About the Project

Mountain Peak Energy Storage (Mountain Peak) is a planned 350 MW / 1,400 MWh battery energy storage facility. This grid infrastructure project is strategically located adjacent to Evergy’s existing transmission lines, poles, and substation in Saline County, Kansas—positioned right at a critical entry point to the grid. The Battery Energy Storage System Site Area will be less than 10 acres. This essential energy reliability project will deliver capacity and energy services to the regional electrical grid in Saline County, improving reliability during peak demand, making the existing transmission system more efficient, and providing potential to lower costs for local ratepayers.
